Mizzou Athletic Training has a very robust and comprehensive sports medicine team, who are big proponents and educators of hydration, nutrition, recovery and regeneration and the importance of sleep. Our team is made up of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>11 team physicians of all specialties, with strong backgrounds in sports medicine training<\/li>\n<li>20 staff athletic trainers<\/li>\n<li>88 undergraduate athletic training students, physical therapists, massage therapists, nutritionists, counseling psychologists and chiropractic physicians<\/li>\n<li>Several other allied healthcare professionals<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Our past services, although efficient and comprehensive throughout seven campus athletic training facilities, lacked in the areas of recovery.<\/p>\n<h6><strong>Share the goals\/vision for your program and how cryotherapy fits into it. <\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>I am confident our personnel are well-trained professionals who share our common vision and goal to provide the best possible athletic healthcare for Mizzou student-athletes. The opportunity to add state-of-the-art technology, with the addition of two cryotherapy saunas, furthers the mission.<\/p>\n<h6><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Why did you decide to partner with Impact Cryotherapy? <\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>Impact Cryotherapy is widely regarded as an industry leader in cryotherapy technology. Their interest in, and support of, Mizzou Athletic Training helped to solidify my decision to partner with Impact.<\/p>\n<h6><strong>How has cryotherapy been received by your athletes?<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>I have said many times since our Impact Cryotherapy chambers\u00a0were installed a few months ago, the biggest proponents and advocates for their use are our student-athletes. The efficiency of the treatment, coupled with the invigorating experience, keeps Mizzou student-athletes coming back as often as possible, post-workout.<\/p>\n<h6><strong>Why do your athletes utilize cryotherapy? <\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>From a sheer numbers standpoint, our football players are the greatest &#8220;users\u201d, although all teams are welcome. Also, since almost ALL team sports train year-round with very little &#8220;down time&#8221;, our Impact cryotherapy chamber has become a part of regular routines, regardless if it\u2019s part of their off-season or in-season training regimen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Mizzou Athletics currently sponsors 18 intercollegiate athletic teams and is a proud member of the Southeastern Conference.
